It helps to have read the earlier books for some of the mechanics, but it is not essential to understand the story. This story takes place a few years after the conclusion of book three.

No this not actually part of the Necromancer Chronicles, it's a new story set in that world with characters we meet in the third story. It is a stand alone story line and none of the main characters come into this story at all except to be mentioned by name.I loved how this story worked and it was very fun to read. Jealousy kills a warlock but in the end it also saves his demons life and then they find true love. On the necromancer' side she too finds love and they both find that running away is never the answer. You have to stand fight for what you believe.
In the end though it's the whole community that wins this fight and a new life is begun.

The series was entertaining, fast paced, with some plot twists, and very interesting characters.
