Having cleared his own name after spending time in prison for a crime he did not commit, Simon Fulton is at a crossroads in his life.
He has been estranged from his only true friend and confidant, Gloria, ever since she discovered her own family’s part in the crime Simon was framed for.
When an older gentleman, Charles Clegg, turns up out of the blue and asks for Simon’s help, he finds it difficult to refuse. Clegg’s brother-in-law has been sent to jail for a hit and run incident, but the businessman believes there is much more to it, and wants Simon to help clear his family’s name.
Simon sets to work on the case whilst simultaneously trying to rescue his relationship with Gloria. If he can convince her to help his investigation, it might mend their friendship and perhaps lead to more. But it might very well lead both of them into danger.

I got this book "on the cheap" through Bookbub and wasn't sure exactly what to expect as it's the second in a series and I was worried I might be lost without reading the first book. Turns out that wasn't an issue ... enough of the backstory was explained to get me by. And I was pleasantly surprised with how well-written it was, and the plot was interesting, unusual, and took many interesting turns in spite of the fact that "whodunit" was discovered fairly quickly. The destination was known but getting there was most of the fun and that makes a good vacation ... why not a novel? I'll go back and read the first book, and hopefully there will be sequels to follow!Product details

Diane Dickson never fails to deliver. Another enthralling mystery, this time set in the beautifully described Yorkshire Moors. Budding Private investigator, Simon and his on and off girlfriend Gloria are drawn into a puzzling case that leads them into a dangerous territory.
Dickson knows how to craft mysteries that keep the reader guessing. Her characters are believable and well-drawn. Tangled Truth is for anyone who enjoys expertly written and intriguing crime mysteries.
A cleverly written mystery with interesting characters and a plot worth following. I would be open to reading more by this author.
Liked this book and the previous one to this one. Kept me wanting to know more. Love mysteries and this fit perfectly.
After clearing his name, Simon finds himself on the search for the truth on behalf of another family. Tangled Truth is a good, plot-driven story, tightly told, only ever revealing enough information to keep the reader guessing. Simon and Gloria are convincing and their relationship well developed. I liked the role reversal of Simon taking the lead and looking after Gloria rather than the other way around. I liked the sense of place and really related to Simon's love for the landscape of Yorkshire. Overall a really enjoyable, satisfying read.
I loved this murder mystery thriller. Gloria and Simon are great characters and are very relatable. A down-to-earth and enjoyable story.
I gave it away, not for me
This is a wonderful dress. It is 90% cotton but is smooth as silk. I am definitely an older woman, but I still like to wear off-beat clothing without going too far making myself look ridiculous. My spouse, who is very fussy, even likes this dress. He says it reminds him of Marimekko clothing I had years ago. The swans are stylized and not "ditsy". There are not too many prints that could be worn by someone who is 10 and someone who is 60 with equal ease. The other plus is the fabric is not see-through at all, so it is cooler than one might expect in summer because it does not require layers of undergarments. The only thing I cannot comment on is washability. I have not washed it yet, but when I do, it will be on gentle, hang to dry and iron damp (yes it will need to be ironed to look as new.) A side note the dress is shorter than I like to wear because I have an unattractive skin condition on my legs; however, the length is stated correctly. I wear navy blue leggings under the dress and I like the look.
